I recently heard a stat that made my jaw drop - and that's saying a LOT in today's paradigm, where it gets increasingly difficult startle or amaze..
The world just crossed the 1 Billion mark - of abortions - since 1973. Of course abortions occurred before that time, but it wasn't sanctioned by the free governments of the world until Roe vs. Wade in 1973. This is a vital distinction - because it speaks to the free will of free peoples acting with the blessing of their sanctioned governments. This always makes a huge difference in God's reaction to any atrocity. The authorities presiding over you and me (by the consent of the people) legalized the murder of infants in the womb - and the people of God have failed to rise up and see it stopped.
The number of abortions in America have crested the 60 million mark - but around the world (all encompassed), we have topped 1 Billion. Genocide. Infanticide.
Cold-blooded murder.
If you know The Lord, then these stats should send a tingle of Godly fear up and down your spine. Do not let the purveyors of greasy-grace deceive you, folks. The Judge is on His Throne, and hell hath no fury akin to what is on tap for this world in answer to the astonishing blood-bath of abortion.
On the individual level, there is (and will continue to be) grace for all who turn from evil and repent.
This sin is no exception.
But in 1973 the sin of abortion transitioned from the individual (performed in secrecy and shame) to take a prominent post within corporate sin (dealing with nations and in an official capacity). Again - this is a very important distinction. A dreadful line of demarcation.
God never changes - He has no need. Jesus was the same when He formed Adam out of clay as He was when fire was rained down on Sodom and Gomorrah. He was the same when He ordered the sacking of Samaria and Jerusalem through His prophets (whereby untold multitudes were brutally executed and exiled) - as He was when He stretched His hands out on the cross to make atonement for our sins.
He is THE God of Justice and Holiness - and he spelled it out for our father Noah in very distinct terms (in Genesis 9):
"...And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.
“Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind."
But what of grace you ask? How do the terms of this eternal covenant relate to us in this post-atonement paradigm? It's very simple - The Lord gave me this answer many years ago:
There will be an accounting of every drop of human blood that is (or has been) spilled, which remains uncovered by His own.
Repentance.is.everything.
And now that abortion (which joins other forms of infanticide dating back millennia) has become a corporate concern by the free will of the people, I think this somber milestone should put us on our faces - and then into action. The nations need to wake up and repent - lest the time of God's justice befall us, unprepared to receive His edict on the matter.
Here is just a tiny sample of post-atonement (New Testament) quotes pertaining to wrath:
"John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, 'You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?'" Luke 3:7
"Because of these, the wrath of God is coming." Col. 3:6
"...Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath." 1 Thessalonians. 1:10
Do you see it? The Cross was not endured to prevent the coming wrath - but (rather) to save all who will turn to Him from facing it. Grace and forgiveness are indeed available to any who come - but be not deceived. Repentance is key...
...and wrath is coming.
Now is the time to repent. Now is the time to seek His Holy Face. Now is the time to do all in our power to beseech this nation to repeal Roe v. Wade (as we should have done decades ago), and then repent for the murder every little one who was legally destroyed since that horrible day.
I awoke today with this burning in my heart and knew that I must share it with you (no matter how unpopular it might make me with some of my beloved friends). Today is the day of grace, but tomorrow will be a direct result of how we react to this grace. Whatever comes, we will have done it to ourselves.
God is Just and Holy - even in His wrath. He is Perfect. He is all good, all the time.
